Resizing Images Using WordPress
- October 22nd, 2008
Since I’m a new user to WordPress, and some of you may be new users as well, I thought that I’d share with you how to change the size of your thumbnails within your posts on Wordpress. First, I copy and paste the image that I want to use into my Paint program. This allows me to resize the object, edit the object, even change the colors. When I’ve got the image as I want it to appear on my website, I simply save it to my folder. When I’m using WordPress, I click on the “add an image” icon which looks like a square within a square. I then upload the image from my computer. It will appear in a category labeled “Gallery”. I open it up and copy and paste the url from the Gallery to my actual posting in the thumbnail section. And viola! I’ve got the perfect-sized image on my site! This is particularly helpful when I’m working on posting deals to my DivineSteals website.
Do you know another way to re-size images using wordpress? I’m sure that there’s an easier way, but as I said, I’m still learning and figuring this out was liberating! I was so excited about it I wanted to share with you! Let me know if this is helpful…

Good Morning Rachel
do you use the visual editor in wordpress when you are creating your post or the html editor?
If you use visual you can simply click on the image and resize by dragging. You can activate visual in the administration panel of wordpress, go to your dashboard, click on users (yeah who would guess) at the far right of your menu bar, click on your profile, click the visual option. When you create your post you will see the html option or visual option next to your add image options. click the visual tab and you will kind of get the wysisyg type editing…
let me know if this works for you!
Thanks for the tip Dee! I usually use the visual editor. This will be definitely save me a LOT of time!
