What’s AverageGal.com?
- October 20th, 2008
Hi, my name is Rachel Holmgren. I’m just your average gal-next-door. I graduated from College with a Business Management Major and a Communications Minor. Shortly thereafter, my husband and I married, and two kids later I found myself working a 9-5 job for one of the largest banks in the country, as a Credit Analyst. I loved the people, but found myself wanting to spend more time with my kids while making a full time income. I also wanted more control of my earning potential and felt that wasn’t possible without starting my own company. My husband and I fell in love with the possibilities of e-commerce, and together we decided that it was time for me to take the leap.
My hope and desire for AverageGal.com is to be as transparent as possible in my day-to-day discoveries and lessons on the road to blogging success. I’d like to show you how I’m going to make a full-time income blogging; trust me, if I can do it, anyone can! Each day, with a little help from my husband (who still works that 9-5 job), I’ll be sharing with you my trials and tribulations of the blogging world (while also trying to keep my 2 and 3 year old daughters happy and occupied).
If you’re stuck in a dead end job, just want a fresh start where you can be your own boss, or you’re simply interested if I can actually accomplish this feat… read on and follow me through my journey! I look forward to hearing your insight and any tips you have for me along the way. Happy Blogging!

Very nice site! I look forward to seeing you go from internet novice to blogging riches!
Hi Rachel.
I came across your blog thru John Chow.com.
I have looked at your three blogs and find that you have a nice start going.
I’m not sure just how long you’ve been running the three, but I did notice that you’ve got ads going on all three…not saying that this is a bad thing mind you. I just do not like to see a blog just overrun with them.
Good luck to you and I’ll be around to see how you do…Good Luck to you in the future…
